The Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) has released a comprehensive list of guidelines for candidates appearing in the upcoming Actuarial Examinations. These rules apply strictly to all students and are aimed at ensuring a smooth and fair exam process. Candidates must read and adhere to the following instructions carefully for strict compliance.
Guidelines for IAI Actuarial Exams (May 2025):
- Mandatory Hall Ticket & Original Photo ID: Only Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License accepted.
- Only Original Actuarial Tables are allowed—no printed or photocopies.
- Use Same Device as Mock Exam to avoid technical problems.
- No One Else in Room during the exam.
- No Chat Apps or Extra Tabs on your computer; keep your mobile away.
- 2-Minute Restroom Breaks allowed after proctor approval via chat.
- Update All System Software before the exam day.
- Monitor Exam Timer—starts right after clicking “Start Test”.
- Attendance Certificate will be available post-exam in your login.
- Hall Tickets Available by 8th May 2025, 6:00 PM IST.
- Use Blank Sheets for Rough Work (must be shown to the proctor).
- No Late Logins Allowed—strict cut-off on login time.
- Private Space Required—multiple candidates can't appear from the same location.
- No Study Materials, Devices, or Backup Laptops inside the exam room.
- No Speaking Aloud or External Communication during the test.
- Dress Code: Smart Casuals are recommended.
- Only Approved Calculators allowed (Casio, Canon, TI, HP, Sharp models).
- No Irrelevant Matter or Appeals in your answer script.
- Avoid Abusive Language or inappropriate behavior.
- Country Restrictions Apply—some regions are excluded as per IAI guidelines.
- Strict Anti-Cheating Measures: Copying or malpractice may lead to suspension or a lifetime ban.
- Technical Help Contact: Reach out to the helpline or official IAI contacts for any issues.
- No Outside Help Allowed, even from family or friends.
- Keep Backups for Tech Failures, but outside the exam room.
- No Extra Time for Technical Issues—be fully prepared in advance.
- Data Recovery Is Not Guaranteed by IAI; exam may have to be retaken.
- Raise Exam Queries Within 2 Days after the exam to exam@actuariesindia.org.
